Bluefield Houseboats, based in Northern Ireland, designs and manufactures a range of unique houseboats and floating spaces that offer the same standard of living on water as you would find on land, no compromises. Our innovative and sustainable houseboat designs can regenerate “bluefield” water sites into usable living or commercial space.
The company combines 3 industries (Marine, Construction & Manufacturing) to pioneer houseboat design, and currently offer 4 ranges of houseboats to the market:
The R (Residential) Series is our top of the range residential models, available in 2 and 3 bedroom variations.
The C (Commercial) Series uses the same system as the R Series, but has been adapted to be used as floating offices, restaurants, retail space, studio / gym or conference / exhibition space.
Our M (Marina) Series has been designed for the marina market with a more boat like aesthetic.
Our FP (Floating Pod) Series has been designed for inland waterways and lakes, primarily for the hotel and staycation market.
Bluefield has taken full advantage of pre-fabrication and modular design to develop an efficient product range which keeps costs to a minimum. By employing the same design principles, we can also adapt the system to create bespoke floating solutions. Working closely with a client we can therefore produce a unique design to suit a particular requirement or site restraint, subject to agreed timescales and costs.
The Bluefield concept can be further extended to produce multi-use projects, which combine our floating spaces with walkways, public realm and amenities to create unique floating green areas, promenades and waterfront developments. As these projects only “lightly touch” the sites, they can be increased or decreased to evolve as demand dictates.
R SERIES
If it is luxury living on water you are dreaming of, then our Residential Series houseboats can make that dream a reality. The R500 and R750 units are floating luxury apartments with a unique 50T concrete pontoon system to ensure maximum stability. Our generous standard specification includes a top of the range kitchen and island with a BORA hob and built in extractor, Quooker tap, Quartz sink and worktop with sloped drainer and splashback, true handle less kitchen doors with built in LED lighting, all finished with Bosch appliances, Wi-Fi oven, wireless charging, wine cooler, pull out bins and bespoke island. There is also a spacious open plan living / dining / kitchen area, mechanical ventilation heat recovery system, aluminium windows, fully compliant bathroom and up to 3 bedrooms. Slide open the patio doors and the large balcony allows for additional entertaining space or indeed a table and chairs for al fresco dining. Bespoke changes and upgrades can be made to both the interior and exterior of the R500 and R750. There is also the option to add a roof terrace giving additional outdoor space for entertaining, gardening or just relaxing with family and friends. You really need to step on board to appreciate how special these houseboats really are!
C SERIES
Our C Series offers a wide range of commercial spaces suitable for coffee shops, offices, studios and restaurants, and currently available as a C500 and C750, with much larger designs in the pipeline. Adapted from our R Series, these standard commercial designs, can also be modified to suit client, site and budget requirements with prices and specifications available on request.
M SERIES
You can experience real marina style living in one of our luxury Marina Series houseboats. Our M250 and M350 models have been specifically designed to fit seamlessly into a marina environment with a boat like aesthetic and an interior layout to accommodate a modern lifestyle. The new design GRP catamaran pontoons offer a superior level of stability as well as adding to the nautical look and feel of the houseboat. No compromises on the interior finishes either as these houseboats come fitted out with everything you would expect in a Bluefield houseboat. The full height ceilings create a light and airy feel with sliding doors to both the front and rear balconies. A fully compliant bathroom with toilet and shower, as well as a fitted kitchen with 2 ring hob, microwave combi oven and sink means you will have a real home from home for those mini getaways. Of course there is always the option to upgrade your kitchen, kitchen appliances, flooring and other interior and exterior finishes, in order to make your houseboat a little more bespoke. With our M Series houseboats you really will experience life on water, without the compromise.
FP SERIES
The FP Series has been designed for the holiday park market with a more pod–like aesthetic along with composite decking and slick cladding to fit within a parkland environment. Most suited to inland waterways and lakes, this Series is available as a FP250, FP310 and FP500. As part of our standard specification, all these houseboats come with a fully fitted kitchen and appliances (combi oven, hob and fridge), high quality flooring, internal doors with rebate, skirting and architrave, fully compliant bathroom with toilet, wash hand basin and shower, built in storage, sliding double glazed doors and waste transfer tank and pump. As always, upgrades can be made to the interior and exterior to allow clients to customise their houseboat.
